Cervical cancer vaccination (HPV) and screening

At our clinic, we are committed to promoting women’s health through preventive care, focusing on the early detection and prevention of cervical cancer. Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the leading cause of cervical cancer, and regular screening and vaccination are key to reducing the risk. Our services include HPV vaccination and comprehensive cervical cancer screening to ensure that women stay healthy and protected.
HPV Vaccination
The HPV vaccine is a highly effective preventive measure against the types of HPV that most commonly cause cervical cancer, as well as other HPV-related cancers, such as anal, vulvar, vaginal, and throat cancers. Our clinic offers the latest HPV vaccines for both young individuals and adults to help protect against these cancers and prevent the spread of HPV.We offer a variety of fertility treatments and support to address common challenges and maximize each patient’s potential for a successful conception. Our fertility services include:
Key Benefits of HPV Vaccination:
  • Cancer Prevention: The vaccine protects against the most high-risk HPV strains, including HPV 16 and 18, which are responsible for the majority of cervical cancers.
  • Wide Age Range: While the vaccine is most effective when given before exposure to HPV (ideally between the ages of 9 and 26), it can still benefit individuals up to age 45, reducing the risk of developing HPV-related cancers.
  • Safe and Effective: The HPV vaccine is safe, with numerous studies showing its effectiveness in preventing infections with the HPV types covered by the vaccine.
We recommend HPV vaccination as part of a comprehensive approach to sexual health and cancer prevention, and our clinic provides counseling to help patients make informed decisions about vaccination.
Cervical Cancer Screening
Cervical cancer screening is a critical component of women’s health care, designed to detect early signs of cancer or precancerous changes in the cervix. The main methods of screening are the Pap Smear and HPV Testing, both of which are available at our clinic, we also provide advanced screening techniques like colposcopy and conservative treatment options like thermocoagulation for preinvasive stages.
Pap Smear (Pap Test): A Pap smear is a routine screening test that checks for abnormal cells on the cervix that may develop into cancer. It is recommended for women aged 21 and older, with regular screenings every 3 years until the age of 30, and every 5 years after age 30 when combined with HPV testing.
HPV Testing: HPV testing checks for the presence of high-risk HPV strains that can lead to cervical cancer. For women over 30, HPV testing is often done alongside a Pap smear for more comprehensive screening. If the HPV test is negative, the interval between screenings may be extended.
Why Cervical Cancer Screening Is Important:
  • Early Detection: Regular screening can detect abnormal changes before they turn into cancer, allowing for early treatment and reducing the risk of developing cervical cancer.
  • Prevention: With the combination of HPV vaccination and regular screening, cervical cancer is largely preventable.
  • Guided Treatment: If any abnormal results are found, our clinic offers further diagnostic tests, such as colposcopy, and we provide management and treatment options to prevent the progression to cancer.
